We're at 2809 West 16th Avenue in Vancouver, Canada, on the northwest corner of West 16th Avenue and MacDonald. Look for the 7-11 store, and you'll see our veterinary clinic a few doors down from it. Free parking is in front of the clinic.

The meaning of the arbutus tree

Arbutus West Animal Clinic is named after the arbutus tree, which once grew in abundance in the Kitsilano-Arbutus neighbourhood of Vancouver. First Nations people used parts of this distinctive tree for medicinal purposes. Unfortunately, most of the arbutus trees in this area were cut down because people thought that they were messy; arbutus trees shed their bark rather than their leaves.

The arbutus tree lives on in the name of our veterinary clinic to represent the healing power available to us.
