Our Special Friends

Of course at Arbutus West Animal Clinic we have a collection of special friends.

Here are just some of the menagerie.

James Dean (Jimmy)

May 1, 2005-Feburary 5, 2010

Jimmy finally succumbed to epilepsy on February 5th 2010. He was a wonderful companion and friend. He and his sister Coco Chanel used to get into all sorts of mischief. Jim would send his sister to greet all the people at the various dog parks and while she was doing that he would sneak around and check all their pockets and bags for treats. He was the official greeter at every event. Everyone had to be licked and Jimmy would not leave until he was well petted. He loved to chase his ball down our thirty foot long hall in the evening and push his ball at his sister to encourage her to play tug of war with him. He would complain if his food was late (we were allowed a five minute delay). Jim was a creature of habit. He was a lover not a fighter. He was a cuddler and a snuggler. We all miss him and we wish could have had more time with him.

CoCo is a French Bulldog, and Jimmy is a Boston Terrier. This is Carly (black Sharpie mix) and Sophie (blonde Sharpie) basking in the light waiting to go gallivanting at the beach. Arnold and SweetPea
They are gone but not forgotten.

very dear to our clinic. This is Jay Marzolf
Jay is a St. John’s Ambulance therapy dog at Vancouver Children’s Hospital and Point Grey Private Hospital

He enjoys long walks on the beach, canooing and sailing. When he's not swimming or sailing, you can find him cuddling on a couch or recliner.

He's handsome, energetic and also jumps on couches. :) Juno is a beautiful Bull Mastif.
She is a real sweetheart and a very gentle giant. Sadly, they moved to Alberta. she will be missed :( This is CHA CHA Hodgins.
She is a Toy Manchester Terrier:
CHA CHA’S best friends are a
HUGE German Shepherd, and
a Border Collie. She
thinks she’s as large as they are.

Sophie is just incredibly playful and sweet. She prances like a gazelle and can jump easily up on the dining room table. Jeffrey is chill, just like his namesake in the movie.
